As a participant or alumni of the English Language Fellow Program, you are a valued member of a prestigious community of TESOL practitioners. There are several ways you can engage in the English Language Programs community while abroad and after you return.

Share your story

If you take a look at our stories from the field, you can see that we love to highlight the accomplishments of our participants. You have firsthand knowledge of what it is like to teach abroad with this program, and it is important to share your unique perspective. If you are currently in the field, please tell us about the projects that you are working. If you are a former participant of the program, please let us know what you have been up to since finishing your assignment. Either way, we would love to feature your story in some way. If you are interested in sharing your story, please email fellow@elprograms.org.

Serve as a Fellow again

As a cultural exchange program, first preference is given to new applicants. However, former fellows can often take advantage of opportunities to return to the program for another assignment. If you are a current Fellow interested in renewing your fellowship for another year, please read the renewal policy. If you are a former Fellow interested in reapplying, please read the return-to-program policy to see the application requirements.

Community of Practice (COP)

The English Language Programs Community of Practice is a place where program alumni can connect with each other, access resources, share best practices in the TESOL industry, and search for jobs. Program staff also use the COP as a channel to communicate with alumni about important program updates and upcoming events. If you are not a member of the COP, click here to register.

State Alumni

As a former or current participant in a U.S. Department of State exchange program, you are eligible to join the International Exchange Alumni community. This community is intended for and run by past and present U.S. government-sponsored exchange program participants and can be used to find tools to advance your community and our world.
