The Kandal Regional Teacher Training Center (RTTC) is a public institution that provides a 2-year pre-service training program for secondary school teachers (Grades 7-9) for three provinces: Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, and Kampong Speu. The number of new recruits varies each year depending on the Ministry of Education priorities. Within the 2-year training program, the English major trainees receive 928 hours of General Education (Psychology, Teaching Methodology, Environment, Culture, etc.), 1044 hours of English training, and 290 hours of Khmer Studies in the 2-year period to become a secondary school teacher. As a national institution, RTTC plays a significant role in providing a supply of secondary school teachers for the surrounding provinces.

The teachers trained at this location will be deployed to many rural schools including Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, and Kampong Speu.
