Collaboration between Peace Corps and English Language Programs

Peace Corps Volunteers Nate Roth and Natalie Linwong invited English Language Fellow Janet Long to present at a “Fun Teaching” workshop in the Karawang, West Java area of Indonesia. The workshop was aimed at high school English teachers from the area.

Participants learned fun games to help their students learn vocabulary, strategies for modifying reading activities in textbooks to fit specific classrooms, and warm-ups designed to engage their students. Long also presented information on how to apply for scholarships and programs to study in the United States.

This workshop was a collaboration between the English Language Programs and the Peace Corps and illustrates the growing cooperation between the two groups.
