Fellow Holds Grammar Workshop in Viet Tri, Vietnam

English Language Fellow Jessica Carroll co-presented a hands-on interactive workshop at Hung Vuong University alongside Fellow Hartini Tamin. There were 120 pre-service and in-service teachers in attendance.

The three-hour workshop focused on the benefits of integrating Communicative Language Teaching(CLT) into grammar lessons. Additionally, Carroll demonstrated practical tools to show teachers how to modify their existing or future classroom practices. During the workshop, teachers conducted sample communicative activities that were designed directly from the current textbook used in Vietnam’s schools.

Attendees were composed of local high school, secondary and primary teachers as well as English Pedagogy majors and the staff from the Foreign Language Department. The local teachers were enthused to learn practical activities and utilize resources that can be used immediately in their classrooms.
