Fellow Coordinates a Training on Integrating Technology in University Classrooms in Chennai, India
English Language Fellow Julie Kalsow coordinated a four-day international workshop series on “Integrating Technology in University Classrooms,” which provided a blended learning experience for regional college instructors over a six-week period. Anna University hosted this event in Chennai, India.
Presenters conducted hands-on workshops in the English department’s language laboratory every other weekend, and participants learned how to effectively integrate various technology tools into their classrooms, most of which do not have technology built into the institutions’ infrastructure.
Between the workshops, participants built digital portfolios, which included website libraries, blogs with word clouds, listening/speaking activities, and their own Wikispaces to use as platforms for university classrooms. After the workshops, participants received certificates and shared their positive feedback about the experience.
