Fellow leads yoga classes in Turkey

In addition to being an English language teacher at Yüzünzü Yil University in Van, Turkey, English Language Fellow Constance McCoy leads yoga classes.

Shortly after arriving in Turkey as a Fellow last year, McCoy, a certified yoga instructor, collaborated with the physical education department to facilitate and promote the classes. This year, she expanded her classes to include an introductory session of yoga as for 33 undergraduate students once a week.

Most of her students have a basic knowledge of English and can follow her verbal instructions. The combination of physical and verbal instruction, however, creates a unique opportunity for the students to both improve their English and their yoga. The students are enthusiastic to have an opportunity to practice yoga in this remote location.
