Fellow Meets with English Access Microscholarship Students to Celebrate International Day of the Girl Child

English Language Fellow Peggy Kang was invited to speak to the English Access Microscholarship Program students for the International Day of the Girl Child, which took place at the Yaounde Pilot Linguist Center.  The hour lesson consisted of a variety of short activities and discussions.

Kang began with the icebreaker “two truths and a lie” to make everyone feel comfortable in the group setting and then presented on the importance of empowerment through education. Next, everyone discussed what it means to build a sense of community by becoming allies for one another. The learning outcomes were reinforced through many activities, and students were energetic and engaged throughout the lesson.
