Changing Lives as a Specialist in Thailand

Karen Jury, an English Language Fellow and Specialist in Thailand from 2013-2015, has always possessed a strong interest in the TESOL field. Fascinated by the intersection of language, culture and education, Karen currently works with diverse populations to improve their English language skills. Karen’s involvement in the English Language Fellow Program was a life changing experience that has continued to inspire her and propel her career to new heights. Through her work with unique populations of learners, she strengthened her project coordination, curriculum development and collaborative teaching skills.

Karen is an avid supporter of the English Language Fellow Program and encourages other educators to take advantage of the great professional development opportunities the program provides. “My involvement in this program has immeasurably enriched my life. From the new friendships I forged, to the unforgettable travel experiences, to the overall increased sense of self-efficacy and confidence, there’s no doubt that I’ve come back a stronger, wiser and more fulfilled person.”
