Specialist Mary Lou McCloskey

Dr. Mary Lou McCloskey, a former teacher, has worked with children teachers, schools, districts, and ministries of education in 36 states and in 40 countries on five continents. She served as President of TESOL International in 2002-2003. She now teaches on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages each spring at Agnes Scott College, in Decatur GA, and volunteers as an English Language Specialist at the Global Village Project, a school for teenage refugee girls with interrupted education. She is author of many articles, professional texts, and programs for English learners and their teachers, including, Integrating English, Teaching Language, Literature and Culture, Voices in Literature, Visions, and Strategies for Teaching English Language, Literature, and Content. Dr. McCloskey still enjoys time in the classroom, where she can keep learning from teachers and students.
