Students Learn about American Culture through Baseball

English Language Fellow Brandon Dowd led an interactive workshop that introduced middle-school students in China to American culture through baseball. Students had the opportunity to get to know one another, play word games, and explore the fundamentals of baseball. They learned how to throw a baseball, how to bat, and how to run around the bases.

Dowd provided this workshop because some instructors at the school were interested in having their students learn about American culture. They learned that America is a land of many sports and of cultural diversity, while also practicing their English language skills and having fun.
