During the fall semester at American Corner in Semarang, Indonesia, English Language Fellow Erica Balazs is conducting a chat series with her students. In these biweekly sessions, students are encouraged to speak freely, learn about American culture, and gain valuable intercultural skills. Students feel less pressure and are less worried about making mistakes outside of a classroom setting. The students often ask Balazs questions about American culture, prompting a lively conversation that benefits both their language skills and cultural exchange.
