“Your Class Dot Com” Presentation in Turkey

Rosanna Islas and Lydia Deakin, both English Language Fellows in Turkey, discussed free online course management systems during a best teaching practices presentation at the GlobELT Conference in Antalya, Turkey this April.

The four-day conference attracted presenters and participants from around the world. Rosanna and Lydia presented their own personal course management systems used in their host institutions, focusing on their application, useful features, and student reactions to the use of this technology in the courses. The Fellows had the opportunity to share free resources to improve students access to materials and course information while increasing educator and institutional efficiency.

In addition to sharing these teaching tools, the presentation provided an opportunity to discuss common trends and attitudes toward the use of technology in the Turkish classroom, as well as to network with other likeminded educators from around Turkey and the world.
